I forgot that is was a "freestyle" day. (Senior Moment) Took these yesterday and B/W really looked so much better than color. Our grandson would hay all day every day. He lives for hay season. His dad, an uncle and his other grandfather have been at it for years. He is a hard little worker.
Great shots PatO and black and white is perfect. Used to love to be on my Uncle's farm when he was "putting up the hay".... great smell - fresh mowed hay - city kids don't know what they're missing.

p14 Nor do a lot of country kids who prefer video games and have an aversion to anything requiring physical effort. Hard to even find a teen who is willing to help with yard work, or any type of work.

The green canopy gives everything under it a green cast, so the camera is capturing what it sees. Have you tried using the Polaroid filter (about $6-8.00) or domed lens cap (about $30.00) to set your white balance? I tried it sometime ago, got away from it and found that on cloudy days the AWB gave me blue photos. So I have been working on it again for a week or so. It really is wonderful. No more blue photos. The color is true.
pg.1: Fred Ann, That is breath taking. What a treasure! Glad you had your camera at the ready to capture this scene.
pg.5: Debbienc, wonderful pictures. Candy and puppies all look great. Congratulations to you and Mama Candy. Wow! That makes you Grandma now. :D  :D
Love your photos. I felt a bit homesick while looking at them. How many acres? All into Hay?
pg.5: Teri, Nice shooting. Love your Iris. Perfect!
