HELP!! Need help in CS5 Photoshop

Working on photo and all of a sudden, a starburst?? don't know what to call it, it looks like a North & South sign (red) pops up and twisted my picture so it's at an angle. Can't figure out how to straighten the picture, as when I try straightening, it look like the whole canvas moves and it won't straighten. This has happened before, and I've just closed the picture and don't save and start over again, but this time I've done a lot of work.

Finally found it. When I started to think about it, it wasn't the picture that was angled, it was the canvas. You go to hand and hold down and then get the angle tool. Yeaa!! The canvas is not straight again.

When you are rotating the picture with the rotation hand too and want to straighten it, just hit the escape key on a PC and it will do what you want.
Shirl, the tool you are using is the rotation tool. If you right click on the hand tool, you can select the other hand tool and that will move the picture around on the screen, not rotate it. Hope this helps.
