I have a Sony a6300 and feel the need for extra security as the grip around the right side of the camera is small. I've gotten some suggestions for the Joby Ultra Fit and others. I sort of like the looks of the Herringbone Heritage hand grip, does anyone use one for the Sony a6300 ? I don't want a wrist grip, just a hand strap. Thanks!!!!

I have a Sony A6000 and use a Cotton Carrier hand strap and really like it. It not only gives you the security while carrying the camera but the part that screws into your tripod hole on the base of the of the camera has a built-in quick release plate so it is always available if you need to use a tripod that has a head that accepts QR plates.

I had the herringbone strap and it looks good and works fairly well but it's leather and tends to wear into a groove, sort of like leather shoe strings- after a while, they get a groove making it harder to tighten them beyond the groove.
I have since upgraded to the Peak Design and it is working out very well for me on a D810. Easy on and off for tripod use, two connection points although if one lets go, the other isn't going to help.

I'd like to find a good, supportive hand strap to fit my Fuji X-Pro2 interchangeable lens mirrorless camera, esp. for use with longer Fuji lenses. Previously tried Peak Design's strap and found it uncomfortable for my hand size. Looked hard at the Spider Pro, but it's not recommended for mirrorless (not quite sure why) and their Spider Lite which they do recommend does not seem as substantial. So I'm interested in this thread and continuing to wait and watch. /Ralph

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for or not but I have one of Gordy's wrist straps that I use on my Canon T3i and I love it. I never did like the neck strap that came with it. The wrist strap connects at the same point as the neck strap, not at the tripod connection. http://www.gordyscamerastraps.com/

Thanks Walt, looking for a hand rather than wrist strap.

Thanks. I'll take a look at that. It's such a small camera that a large strap is hardly necessary.

I am using the Spider Holster Hand Strap on my Nikon D810 and my Olympus E-M1. Excellent straps, great support, well made with a security strap as well. My wife has one on her E-M5/2.

I use a Spider hand strap on my A6000 and OMD E-10. They are made for mirrorless cameras. I really like them, they are very comfortable and secure.

It looks like the strap is $65, and the attaching plate is another $25. Is that right?!

I have taken neck straps, I don't want or find cheap at garage sales, cut them down to the needed length for my wrist and sew the ends securely together to form a loop at the end near the camera lug attachment.

Clever. By the time I invested in a sewing machine that could sew through that thick material...
