Catfish for Supper

Waited quite awhile for this Great Blue Heron to catch a fish and when he did it sure was a whopper. The catfish was giving him a hard time so he flew off to a spot on the shore so he wouldn't loose it. I don't know how he managed to swallow it, but I saw him again today and he still looks healty.

Very nice shot and capture; I also found it to be a bit humorous, not for the fish, but the Heron looks a mite frazzled! (:<))

Jcam, He dove with his whole body to catch that catfish. I estimate it was at least 2' long. He was shaking the water off his body and at the same time the fish was putting up quite a struggle so he finally flew off and landed on in the woulds somewhere. He didn't want to loose that baby. Don't know how the hell he swallowed it.?
