I admit to being a dunce when it comes to installation problems. Hopefully one of you great guys can help.
I currently use Lightroom 5.7.
Today I downloaded Lightroom 6 (the standalone version) and I got a "successfully installed" notice. When I clicked "launch" (appears at the end of the install), Version 6 opens. However, when I close out the program, I cannot find it anywhere. It does appear to be loaded in my Programs file, but there is no shortcut on the desktop. I can't find anywhere to launch it again.
Does this make sense? If so, do you have any tips to help me?
Thanks,
Deb
Go to your start menu and type Lightroom. If you Left click on the entry, assuming your using Windows, you can create a shortcut icon on your desktop.
What operating system are you using (Windows or Mac)? Does your system have a file management tool (such as Finder on my MacBook Pro)? Use the file management tool to search for copies of Lightroom. One will be v6.0.
I'm using a PC. I did that and all I can see is the LR file on my Desktop which holds the install files and a Lightroom 6 Remove file.
on C disk look at Program Files see if there is an Adobe Folder which should contain LR than create a desktop shortcut
That sounds like a folder.
Do you have a folder in C:Program Files called Adobe or Adobe Lightroom? Open them and look for the lightroom.exe file.
Call Adobe. They are the experts.

It usually asks if you want to create a desktop icon but you must have said no. Anyway, use your search function on the computer(If win 10, right click lower left corner) and select search and enter lightroom. If will likely show both the old and they new. It does not erase the old version. Find the new version and kick it off. The icon will appear on bottom task-bar just like any application. Right click the icon and select pin to taskbar. I like to keep all of my most common used tools pinned so I don't have to dig my way back to the desktop to kick off an application.
Thanks. What does "kick it off" mean?

Sorry, click on the program. The search will show you all the lightroom program versions such as 5 and 6. Click on 6 from the search screen and the program will run.
