As any country music fan lover knows, this uniquely American music style has its roots in 1920's, Atlanta, Georgia. The beauty of country music and the mass appeal it has hearkened, in many's opinion, is from its emotional honesty and storytelling.

A good country singer doesn't just sing the words, he (or she) FEELS them, and makes the audience feel it too. Through stories and emotion, we learn a little about life, love and ourselves. Here are some beautiful country songs that will lighten your mood and tell you a story. (Auth. unknown)

Brooks $ Dunns version of "The Cowboy Rides Away", better than the guy who wrote it, George Strait.

I played shows for a few of these folks, back when there were still fair dates that hired local musicians to back traveling artists. Believe me, when you are freelancing as a musician, how you're treated by acts that you play maybe once or twice in your life becomes far more important than the musical experience. In that context, in general the kindest and most genuine folks to play for are folks from the country world. Tennessee Ernie Ford, Reba, Tricia Yearwood, and Conway Twitty come to mind as folks that treated the orchestra really well. I met Garth, and although I didn't play with him, I can testify he is a goodie as well. In the "non-country" part of the business, Red Skelton, George Burns, Mickey Rooney, Julie Andrews, and Donny Osmond stand out in my memory as great folks to work for. Thanks for posting this. It brings back the memories I just mentioned.

The people you mentioned are great singers and celebrities, the stars we have in Hollywood today and this new music they play aren't good enough to carry coffee for the stars you've played with.

There is a program over here that has all types of music from rap to country and its live not dubbed. Garth Brooks came on one night and walked up to the mike with the Cowboy hat on much to the amusement of the trendy youg things in the background. Garth sang with no music a song called The Dance. There was a huge silent pause I think everyone realized they had heard something special. No one was sniggering after just cheering and applauding. Country music has influenced so much music around the world but gets so little recognition for it.
