I finally got all my images uploaded and put into a 14-page book through Adoramapix. I should have it back in a little over a week. I don't know why I had trouble uploading for so many days, but it eventually worked. Going from Blurb to Adorama, there was a bit of a learning curve. Putting these books together can be addictive.

Were you able to add labels? I didn't see that as an option and think it would really enhance the product.

the adorama photo books are awesome. i always do my own layouts...so not familiar with their templates. the lay-flat books are top top quality. i see their 8x8 - 14 page books are on sale for $9.95

I didn't see a way to do that. I had done a book with Blurb, and that allowed me to add boxes for photos and text. As you said, Adorama didn't seem to offer that option. For my next book I'm going to try using LR and Blurb.

Thanks Jerry, it's nice to know that if I missed I wasn't the only one!

You can do it...there is a tool bar that pops up with the option...it's not readily apparent all of the time.

I'll bet you like the quality of the Adorama book better when you see it. :)

I also like the Adorama flat books, and will be getting together images for another one for the GRANDS. I also added my own words, font, picture size, and actually found it rather easy to put together, after I figured out where the icons were for the various items. Jerry, Adorama has virtual copies that you can post the book here, turn the pages, etc. At least, I did that with mine on facebook.

Aside from the sale price, that's one reason I did a book with them - comparison.

wow, jerry, it only takes me about 2 hours to do my own layouts for 14 pages....adorama has some great help online there. must be something you are missing. the adorama books are also about twice the quality of blurb books. you will really be pleased.

if you want to learn how to make your own layouts...pm me and i will help you. then you have total control over everything.

I'll give it another look. The main problem initially was uploading images. I would select all 75, and nothing would happen. Then I tried half a dozen, and that would take 30 min or more, with a broadband connection. These were not large files. I had reduced them to 1MB or less. This continued for a few days, and then it began moving faster. Then I had to import them into the Gallery. Again, I often came up blank. Nothing would happen. Over a few days, I managed to get them all uploaded and into the Gallery so I could use them.

When it came to editing, it was less obvious than what I had recently done with Blurb. I suppose it's just a matter of becoming familiar with the software.

Jerry . . . I'll be watching for your opinion on the comparison. I have a bookshelf full of books I've tried and with which I am disappointed after experienced the great quality of Blurb.

You're going to save me wasting $$$ on another "shelf filler" . . . thanks!
