Is there a reason to keep Nikon D7100 if I have a D750

Folks. I am in the process of selling all my photo gear and will end up keeping only the D7100 with a 50mm prime lens. I am doing all this to defray the cost of of D750 which I have convinced myself that I must have. I had not realized the value of the gear I am selling and I believe the money recouped from all the equipment I am selling on ebay will be almost enough to buy the D750 with 24-120 kit. I was going to put the D7100 body on ebay but now I feel I do not truly need to sell the D7100. The key question is - whether there is any use of a second camera which is a DX ?

Only you can answer that question. In my case, I go from very wide landscapes to trying to record a bird from a distance, so I carry 2 cameras with 2 zooms. If the lens on the 750 covers everything you'll shoot, there is no reason to keep the 7100 in my opinion.

Keep it. One DX and one FX, can't go wrong if you can afford lenses for both.

I would not keep it , as you said you may be able to pay of your D750 with the cash in selling that d7100 , but the money will be less every month and year you keep it , and most of that cash must be in the lens that your selling with it , cause the 7100 body alone will only bring in 4 or $500 at the very most , and if you ever feel you need a DX body get a used D3200 and one normal 36mm lens or the 18-105 nikon vr
Lens .

Absolutely no reason whatsoever to keep the 7100.
If you keep it it will eventually be worth next to nothing and you'll have to give it away.
Better get what you can out of it.
If you could afford both, you wouldn't be selling everything...., get rid of it!!!

Why get a lens just for it? Why not share lenses with D750??

My Pentax FF {purchased 1984} and Pentax APS-C {purchased 2015} share lenses.

How much money are you going to get for a used 7100, the price of a new camera body on B&H Photo is $670 as new. When i travel to places like Cape Cod or the coast of Maine , i take two cameras...first with a 12-24mm F 4 and the second with a 17-70mm F 2.8-4.5. saves time in swapping out a lens and it keeps sand or dirt out of the camera body.
I also photograph events and two camera bodies are a must.

This is totally personal, but I choose to keep my camera bodies---even if I there is no obvious need. Perhaps I am a bit of a hoarder, but after using a camera for some time, it becomes painful to let it go.
I keep all my old gear in a spare room, organized and ready to use if I choose.
I am sure that I am not alone in this regard.

Depends on what lens he has , the ones I mentioned , are above normal for ther cost , the 18-105 mm seen it on cregs list for $150 I payed $350 plus tax and the 36mm nikon can be had for $125 if you look around , and those two would be all he needs for his dx camera , and less lens changing around .
