The SR-71 was a bad ass already. This one will have a speed up to Mach 6. That's really fast, and will be much more than reconnaissance. However, it is many years from now, before its first flight.

Me too, but I have seen a couple of retired SR71s, and that was a remarkable aircraft. It's appropriate that the "Skunk Works" is developing its successor.

Lays to rest the existence of the Aurora airplane . A scramjet due to heat , excessive heat , is an engine that just a few years ago was in the early testing stages . Technology marching forward and leave it to Lockheed-Martin to lead the charge , in the air that is ! Thanks for posting .😃
