I have Lightroom CC and have been using it without any issues, but yesterday a location filter popped up -- a map of the world -- and I can't figure out how to get rid of it. No matter what I do it stubbornly remains. Any advice for turning it off be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance : )

I think we would need to know which panel it shows up in - Library, Develop, Book, Print, etc. Often you can toggle out of unwanted features by pressing the O key alone. Oh, not zero. I couldn't make the map show up after I read your post.

Thank you Kissel, It says LPCIB catalog-Adobe Photoshop Lightroom-Map under that it say"Navigator"
I can access my collections but can't open any of the images. Nothing happens when I click on them.

You stumped me there. Looks like you're in the wrong catalog or no catalog. Mac or PC?

Try clicking on the map itself in the approximate area where you live (i.e., USA vs Europe and so forth). Does anything change on your screen then?

Are you in the map module?

Do you know how to change modules?

take a screen shot when the map is up and post it here.

I passed my mouse over a blank part of the screen and got a new upper menu and was able to click on Library and that got rid of the map, THANK GOODNESS. I want to thank all of you for the attention to my problem and suggestions. You are all the BEST!!

That means you have the upper menu hidden unless you reach for it. as long as you are good with that...fine but you can also click the little triangle on the menu to keep it there all of the time.

Good thinking. I've dumped the Map module, so I've forgotten it was even a feature.

Lightroom does this occasionally. It realizes that all of the pictures it is seeing are from the same area. It wants to see something different. It wants you to get out there and see the world. Show LR that there are beautiful sights and interesting people outside of you neighborhood. Travel the world!

I would venture to guess, you more than likely clicked the map icon on one of your pictures either in the grid view or the filmstrip view. The icons are located at the bottom of each picture. They can be deactivated via preferences, if you so desire.
