I'm going to be visiting mackinac island this weekend and would love any hidden treasures that people have found there or like shooting

The Horses, The Carriages, Hundreds of Bikes, Quaint Hotel and Store fronts, The Marina, The Boats, The Fort, The Landscapes, The small Airport, The Flowers, The Historic Hotel, The People. The Bridge views.
This should give you a relatively good start, we will look forward to seeing your many excellent images of Mackinaw Island.

I went there in 2005. Perhaps my photos will give you some ideas: https://www.flickr.com/photos/8712554@N02/sets/72157631826634526/

Hundreds of fudge shops at the island. Snap pictures, close up of different fudge flavors/styles. Go home and process into a delicious montage! Been at Mackinaw Island over thirty times . . . mostly racing in the Chicago-Mac.Isl. sailboat race.

Staying the night or just the day?

The best time is first sunlight (imho), but it requires an overnight stay. I usually stay at the grand a couple times a year. Some of my favorite shots are up the hill (by the houses) looking back at the grand looking out towards round island.

Just view the sunrise over lake. Then go over the bridge there is a park on the west side clear photo shot of the bridge. Also a night shot of the bridge all lite up. Now don't forget about the sunset 🌅there is two light house. One in town the other is on or near the island. You will have great opportunitie for photographing. Enjoy

You are seriously in need of a check up with a mental health professional. Where do you come up with these ideas?

I simply pointed out to you, that it is rather ironic that YOU would advise members NOT to ask others for suggestions about gear, WHILE you yourself asked at least twice about lenses.

When I have some free time that I want to waste, I will copy ALL of your replies to other forum members that you have called idiots and similar degrading names. I will post them in this thread. That will show everyone your mental capacity.

Ignore him. His posts just before yours demonstrate what type of person he is; his gratuitous insults speak more about him than about the subject he claims to be addressing.

Try shooting the island as you arrive on the boat. Pretty good sized cemetery on the island also. Might be some old headstones worth shooting. You can get some good images on the horse drawn carriage tours also.
