I'm going to san antonio, tx. Going to a few caves, boardwalk and six flags. Was wondering what ya'll think about my choice of lens as to which one and only one I should take. It's a canon 7d with either a 10-22 wide angle, 25-70 lens, or 50 mm f1.2?

It's called "The Riverwalk" in those parts, and the food, dangerously tasty margaritas, shops (great art galleries!) and music are exceptional. Not far away (walking distance) is the Alamo. All are far more interesting than Six Flags. I'd take the fast 50mm and move close to your subject(s). /Ralph

I haven't been to San Antonio since 1974, then I shot with a Hasselblad SW, so I would suggest the 10-22 lens. Don't forget the riverwalk area and "remember the Alamo!" 👀👻

25-70mm. Make sure you visit the "River Walk". The lens will be perfect for the various distance shots. Enjoy.

I would definitely take the 25-70 lens.

Meant to say 24-70mm, ya'll probably know which lens I mean.

With tongue firmly in cheek I would still take the 25-70 but you have to take what you have.

No doubt, but we're taking 3 that's right 3 grand kids with us. They'd enjoy six flags way more than us. Was thinking about the 50mm cause we were going to one of the caves there. It's a tough decision because of the cave thing.

Normally I use the 10-22. Great quality images and light weight. Might need more light though (the cave thing) and am not really keen on the in camera flash.

Yeah, I'll probably take the 25-70. I believe it'll be a little more versatile. Thanks for everyone's input.

If it was me ( and it's not) I would take the 10-22 and the 25-70.

I am too new to help with the photography question but I live in San Antonio and wanted to let you to know we have recently opened an excellent children's museum almost right across from the Witty Museum which opened a new dinosaur section. Depending on the grandkids ages they might enjoy one, the other or both. Might be nice if you need a rainy day alternative. Hope you guys have a great time!

Again, depending on the age of your grandkids, visit Trinity University campus, go to the second floor of the Bookstore/Cafeteria for a panoramic view of downtown San Antonio.
