Pierre H.J. Dumais Loc: Mississippi Mills, Ont.
 
This male Ruby-throated Hummingbird shows up in our yard every evening about an hour before sunset and sits on the same branch for several minutes.
His iridescent red throat looks black here because there is no direct sunlight on it. He was back-lit in hard sunlight which created the rim around him.

We have a few other Hummers, but he's the only one that stays put.

The feeder is about 15 feet from him and other Hummers use it when he's perched on that branch. Strange???
