but we do occasionally curl up in a corner and whimper.
Was all proud of myself when i passed this 7mm kidney stone but was not prepared
for this 14x13x11mm monster that followed it.
After 5 weeks it had almost worked its way out but the urologist shoved it back in and
said he would deal with it when he got back from vacation.
My poor old body had its own ideas though and in 3 more weeks it had finally
worked its way down to where i could get my long nose pliers on it.
That sucker ran through me 3 times in 8 weeks but i'm finally whizzing like a man again.

Modern health care sucks

I had those issues serval years ago, I stopped drinking Cokes, only 1 to 2 cups of coffee, and worst of all stopped taking vitamin c and started taking ester c in its place. Oh yea lots of water.
And now no more stones.

But you didn't tell us the most important part. Were you able to use your long-nosed pliers to insert the stone up your urologist's urethra? Inquiring minds want to know!

Your dialog says mm but your scale shows cm. If I am thinking correctly, 11mm is approximately the diameter of a 45 caliber bullet so that would be pretty painful to pass. Believe me I am not putting down your pain in passing such a beast as my wife passed a monster stone last year and was in the hospital for a couple of days while they looked around. She eventually had to have it micro blasted with a laser or some such new fangled equipment.

Glad it passed and you are done with it.

Dennis

Yeah, those long nose pliers come in handy! : )

You don't want to interfere with someone's vacation.

I don't believe I have ever seen a pic of a kidney stone before. I did have my gall bladdr removed a number of years ago. The dr told my wife that that sucker was the ugliest he had ever seen. Your ks may be a close second.

It measures 14mm. 1.4cm, that is big, I can feel your pain, having had fourteen Gall stones presented to me in a jar after having the badder remove, my wife says "They will remind me of you, when you have gone toes up". but like you say, us old sods don't die, we just lose focus now and then, I am 89 and still hanging on. Good on ya mate

Having had 3 battles with kidney stones, I have felt your pain! Even had a couple blasted to avoid additional rites of passage.

blasting seems like a more humane treatment, why isn't it more common?

God bless ya Mate! I hope I get to 89. At my last checkup (77 yrs old) the Doc said, "you have beat the odds. It's all plus now!" And I want to keep it that way.
