Never been, but going the end of July. Any MUST SHOOTS in the surrounding area? Any good photography tours or trips? (It is about 45 minutes from Columbia). Thanks everyone!
Hey! This is GREAT! I ordered it. Thanks - somehow I didn't spot that in my researching frenzy! :-)
What are you interested in
I like it all - wildlife & nature in general, landscapes, waterfalls, wine, a good steak...
Check out the two swinging bridges near Brumley, MO. Also Ha Ha Tonka State Park at Camdenton, MO is a photographer's dream.
Ditto to Ha Ha Tonka state park. Consider travelling deeper into the Ozarks and beyond the touristy Lake. Rivers, bluffs, impressive springs and more.
Thanks for all the replies! I'll check out all I can - I'll be there a week. Don't want the touristy places...so will definitely be doing some driving! I'll have a rental car. We're flying into Columbia.
also near Columbia is Rock Bridge State Park and take a tour through the abandoned MO State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, well worth it.
One of the very unique things about the Missouri Ozarks is the very interesting and active caves. Many of them are privately owned and have tours, which I cannot vouch for (quite a few around Lake of the Ozarks). Onondaga Cave State Park offers perhaps something less...touristy.
