I'd like a little feedback if possible. Staples has PE10 on sale(not sure for how long) for $64.99
I would really like to get a copy of it at this price, but I'm wondering if I would be better sticking with PSP or some other photo editing software. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Tim :)
I just bought this for 46.00 plus 7.95 shipping, on ebay. It was new and sealed. It really does a lot of things my other programs don't do. However it takes a little learning. I also purchased the help book on Kindel. Having fun with it..
Here is how the "differences" were explained to me:
Full PhotoShop was designed for use by graphic artists;
PS Elements was designed for use by photographers.
Many of the features and functions are identical or quite similar, much more so than other post processing programs.
You will not be sorry for using Photo Shop Elements.
Thanks for all your input. I'm heading out right now. I know I could probably get it cheaper on ebay but I'm not very trusting of some ebay sellers. I've been burned before. At least buying a store copy, I can get an honest to goodness licensed copy. :)
Can you teach an old dog new tricks. When I can't understand some thing , I blame it on age. Maybe It's too late to grasp some things. :-P

I've been doing that all my life. I've always been either too young or too old for...whatever
I wonder if PSP would sell more if they raised their price to about $500. I know I'd buy it. You get what you pay for, right?
Right on Jerryc41...Same with WordPerfect and MS Office!! WP use to be the gold standard then Word started a great ad campaign (Perhaps using Karl Rove to blame all of MS Office shortcomings on WP!!) I just paid $20 to upgrade to WP X-5.
When I was active in Environmental I had to use WP QuatroPro to do Log/Log graphing. At one of the invasions of MS Office experts in Phoenix AZ, I asked about Log/Log,,, and got a blank stair! Excel did not have the capability. The problem with many programs is they do what they think you want rather than what you want. I recently went in to Excel to do a simple XY graph and it was so automated I gave up printed graph paper and did it by hand!!
Agreed, Corel should have raised the price of PSP and WP to exceed PS and MS office and then sold at a reasonable price as tho Black Market copy... greed would have sold their Black Market program at twice the price they now sell. Alas, Marketing Makes The World.

WordPerfect is the best WP program, but they lost it all for two reasons: they were too slow to switch to Windows, and MS was giving Word away for free with Windows. Like you, I get the OEM, disc-only, version of WP when I want a new one - $21.95, with tax, delivered for X5.
I checked the Staples website and PSE 10 is available for $79.99 but as an upgrade from PSE 9. $99.99 not as an upgrade.

I bought mine at Sam's Club. It was about $70 with a $30 instant rebate. So for about $40 I bought. This was about two weeks ago. I haven't used it yet cause I have Lightroom4 and trying to get used to that first.
I had Elements 8. When Elements 10 came out, I could get an upgrade for about $75 from Adobe, or a brand new dic from BJ's who had it on sale for $49. (Don't know if the sale is still on or not.)
I talked with Adobe about this anomaly and they basically said "that's life in the big city" Some places use it as a "doorbuster" to get people into the store.
Unless you're someone like a graphic designer, Elements should be fine for you. It does a lot!
