This is an assortment from a couple of different days of hiking in the same area. We had high clouds and low temps, but satisfactory light I think. I spent a lot of time trying to get shots of the swallows that darted around but wasn't successful except for a couple of mediocre shots of one that posed on fence wire. I discovered they're far more difficult than Hummingbirds. I think the turtle (an exciting and surprise find) is more my speed.LOL

Many thanks Jeff. I'm glad you enjoyed these shots and appreciate your thoughtful reply. The turtle was a thrilling and unexpected discovery. There was also a doe in the meadow, but she was too far away for a reasonable shot.

Delightful visuals, Vicki. Your composition and isolation are enhancing, especially the last image of the song sparrow(?) which conveys a very artistic and almost painterly quality. Well done.

what a fun and productive hiking adventure vicki! i love the first shot of those unusual birds in the pond. the poison oak shot
is so pretty...doesn't look itchy at all. but my favorite is the turtle. i love shooting turtles because they don't move...lol!
the little bird on the stump is neat...i love the background and the fact that you caught him while he was singing you a song!
