Anyone use this company for photographic equipment? I ask because a lens I want to buy is $250 less on this site than B&H, Adorama, etc.

Never heard of it, B&H is where I buy most of my camera equipment from, never had a problem. I could see a small price differance but because you don't mention the lens, price or make, it's hard to tell. MORE INFORMATION PLEASE.

I looked up this web site and found a price for a lens that I have in a Pentax mount, it's a Sigma 17-50mm F 2.8. I paid 400.00$ on sale some months back, SLR Direct has this lens in a Nikon mount for $259.00, B&H price $369.00. I find the price at SLR Direct too good to be true. Your on your own on this one.

Thanks for the info. Fuji 10-24mm OIS lens. $999 at B&H, $749 at SLR Direct. I usually purchase all equipment from B&H, but a $250 difference has me questioning.

rwilson, thanks for the site. Sort of what I figured. B&H, here I come; another grand into your revenue stream.

SLR Direct seems to be a seller of gray market gear - little or no support from the manufacturer. I'd buy from Adorama, Amazon, B&H, Cameta, Crutchfield, Hunt's, KEH, or Robert's, instead.

If it's too good to be true, it usually is. Save a dime today, spend a dollar tomorrow. And of course, WC Fields said it all "There is a sucker born every day".

Good decision. No sense in supporting a grey-market[?] dealer.

When you see a deal like this, remember that many camera manufacturers dictate the prices vendors can charge. If they are reputable dealers of that company's merchandise, they would not be able to offer this much of a discount.

One of the many things I like about B&H is that they work around the pricing issue by adding merchandise to the item, which is effectively a sizable discount! Do yourself a favor, and stick with the "trusted vendors".

I've dealt with SLR Direct through Ebay; they sent me what I ordered in a timely manner. I knew that they dealt in grey market gear but I was willing to take the risk considering how much money I saved. To be totally honest, I only dealt with them through Ebay because of the Paypal protection. If the company did not deliver, Paypal would refund my money. I didn't have to do that with the transaction I made.

Run away as fast as you can. Stop & B&H or Adorama.
