I'm looking for a good photo printer that does not cost to much (less than $200) or would it better to use a service like Shutterfly?
Thank you in advance for your advise
Check this out: Hunts Photographic Cameras has a Canon special still going on. You can get a new Canon Pro-100 ($369.95 retail) for $169.95 with free shipping and no tax. The printer is awesome. I just purchased the Canon Pro-10 which is almost identical to the Pro-100 except it uses different ink and has two more ink tanks. Here is how the special works. You purchase the printer at full retail ($369.95). When you receive the printer, fill out the rebate form that comes mostly filled out by Hunts. Send it to Canon and about 3 weeks later you receive a pre-paid American Express credit card for $200.00. You can use the credit card however you like. If you want print paper, it is free. You buy 50 sheets of 13x19 Canon paper along with the printer for $50.00 and you will get a $250.00 pre-paid credit card so that makes the paper absolutely free. Google the Canon Pro-100 and you will find lots of positive comments. So for $169.95 you can get almost a $400.00 printer which is an awesome printer in itself. And no hassles through the entire process. I just called Hunts to verify that the special is still on. They are open Memorial day. Have fun.
The B+H program is better. They give you the paper for free.
Thank you so much for your help. I'm checking that out right now.
Thanks again - I just placed the order with B&H for the Pixma Pro 100.

SUPER. You're going to love it. It is beefy but lots of quality. You're welcome.
That's great. I hope you enjoy the 100 as much as I do mine.
I used the Canon Pixma Pro 9000 for many years before it died...excellent quality photos...the Pro 100 is a great choice at the special prices being offered. I needed a better photo printer with additional blacks so ended up going with the Epson Surecolor 600. Have fun with the new printer.

Thanks Wayne for printer info...too good to pass up. Rebate ends tonight so Pixma is already in my BH cart... this is a Great deal if one is interested in a printer.
i bought the cannon pro 100 so far its very good, if you get one frist thing you do is cut the cpu lable out of the box, or you dont get the rebate, this printer is very heavy, so i had a friend of mine help me get it out of the box and set it up, put my old epson in the box. ask him to through it in the dumpster when he left. next day i set it up and printed the rebate form. it said to cut the cpu lable out of the box. the truck already picked up the dumpster. didnt get the rebate. my own fault. but the printer is worth it evean still

If you get a dedicated photo printer, be prepared to spend money on a Color Monkey or similar program/devise to calibrate your monitor in order to get the most out of it. And learn how to calibrate the printer for each type of paper you use. And then don't be surprised if the prints come out a bit darker than what you see on the screen. Oh yeh, and save your files to TIFF to get the most data out of them for printing. And also, be ready to pay an arm and a leg for the ink. It's spendy. Or you can just send a few of your good ones off to a quality professional outfit.
