Hello
Hi, my name is Jimmy Huddleston and I am a novice photographer. I am a Wildlife Management student at Texas Tech in Lubbock, TX and plan to try and learn as much as possible to incorporate my love for photography with my love of animals. I will start off by submitting a photo that I took on one of the legendary ranches here in West Texas, feel free to comment. Look forward to chatting with all of you...
Welcome Squirel. Good pix of the snake. Is that Rattler? Looks huge. Of course, if it grew up in Texas, that's the way they grow them. Come join any of the streams. Clk on watched Topics or Active Topics. Or both.
We have a lot of excellent photographers all the way down to people like me. Don't know much but just having fun with it.
Hi Squirel, Like the photo, see it's got a politician's tongue!!!!!. Welcome. Normanc
Welcome to the Hog! Great place to learn, some awesome talent wanders these pages.
Yup, that snake fits into Washington just fine. Is it running for House or Senate?
Welcome Squirrel. What I want to know is did you manage to jump back far enough after taking the snake shot? It's great. Is it a western diamond back, or an eastern diamond back, or what?
Good morning all, the rattler in the photo is a Western Diamondback. And I completely agree with the statement about it being a prime example of how politicians should be viewed! Thanks for the support and comments, looking forward to becoming a regular contributor to the forum!
@BillPix: This little feller was really cordial and well behaved thru the whole "photo shoot". He would rattle for a second then test the air with his tongue. He never tried to strike or charge, so I really wasn't worried. I also never leave home without my snake proof boots. I find that I don't pay much attention to the ground when I am gathering data in the field...
Welcome, Jimmy. I like the exposure you have on the Rattler, very nice.
Welcome, Squirrel, to the Hog. There are so many people here that will help you learn a great deal about photography. Love your photo. I've lived in Texas since '65 and never seen a rattler on the ground before. I am very fortunate. If I had, you would have seen the dust as I ran all the way up north.

Hi Squirrel welcome to the hog. Definitely run him for pres. haha, but anyway, your pic is good. And yes it is a western diamondback right? lets see more.
Rich, I think the Snake is already there. Don't you think perhaps it has a part time job in DC?
