Considering the purchase of the PD Camera Clip and looking for the Pro's/Con's, Yeah/Nay from anyone who's used the Peak Design Capture or CapturePro Camera Clip for traveling....Thanks
It, for a time, was something I used whenever I hiked with my camera. Easy access and secure.
Absolutely LOVE the Peak Design stuff. I have the whole system including both clips, shoulder strap, hand strap and also the PD Messenger Bag. I use the Bag for light walk around only. I didn't find the bag as versatile as I thought it would be, especially for bringing large lenses like the Nikon 200-500 zoom. Everything else works perfectly - as advertised. The clips are strong and easy to release once you get used to them and never accidentally come loose in my experience. Sometimes the clips can get in the way when mounting a camera on a tripod or monopod, but it only takes a few seconds to remove and reattach them. When using longer lenses, I keep a plate mounted on the lens ring to avoid the hassle. Can't say enough good about the utility and quality of the system.
I use two clips all the time, one for my camera, one for lenses. I also carry a small belt pack for batteries, remotes, lens cleaners, etc. I often wear a light jacket that covers my gear. I have all that I need and I don't look like a camera geek. I also use a small Peak Design Leash to prevent my camera from crashing to the ground. The clip's screws have a slight tendency to loosen, especially after first putting them on my belt. I have to tighten them a couple of times after you put the clips on my belt.
There is a cheap knock-off clip. Unfortunately, the catch on this sub-par. A sharp bump on the camera could release the camera from the clip. Thus, I think this cheap imitation is not a bargain.
Thanks everyone for the comments, pretty much makes up my mind and looks like a great versatile product....that appears very useful
