I know many on this site have and use Topaz products. This week Topaz released a new Studios product that can be used as a standalone pp. I see that it is in a PC and MAC format. It comes with 10 adjustments and it's all FREE. If you are inclined and want the PRO version with 14 more adjustments there is a cost. Has anyone on the site tried Studio and is the Pro version worth the additional cost? As they say "just asking".

I purchased the PRO version.
If you have a lot of the Topaz plug-ins (and other plug-ins) it is proabably not worth it, otherwise it is just ok (not near as good as LR and PS(CC).
The reason I purchased it was for a possible alternative if Adobe CC subscription costs become excessive (another price rise was advised this week).

Seems like a deal, but have not been able to download in 2 computers. I have a Topaz account and passwords, but they don't work. Time will tell.

I have downloaded it and took a look at it but have not yet given it a good test looks like many other editors out there but it is free with the 10 presets and the pro ones are free to try for 30 days, I have the whole topaz labs collection and am wondering if the pro upgrade is necessary.

In the past, I have purchased anneverd use Adjust 5.2 the most. I have clarity, remask5, simplify, textures and impressions. So that is why I asked if Studio Pro is of any value other that it is packaged into one program. My PP program is Paintshop ProX8 but Topaz plug-ins are so easy to use. I never got into PhotoShop since I started with Paintshop back in the 90's. Keep sending in your opinions, Please.

My advice is give up... run... trash your computer...

Is you computer new enough that it meets the needs of the program??

Pass word dose not work... hay!! click the forgot pass word and reset it. You give up too soon!! You must at this time be pulling you hair out by the roots... I have a neighbor that way... an allergy to all things computer.... Now in 1985... there was plenty to get frustrated about when dealing with computers... much; today's computers, little.

Studio... well... yes I downloaded.... also I purchased the Topaz Photo Lab, good Idea, never used; so easy to use PSPro X-9 and with full suit of Topaz Plugins.

I recently purchased Affinity, think it is the way to go... but have not found a road map of the dropdown menus ... the where what is map. They refer to "persona" huh. what. Just function classifications like adjust, edit in other edit programs.

Does anyone know how Studio is different from Topaz FX?

I was confused by the Topaz ad as to what you actually get for free. "While it's completely free to use the program with 10 Adjustments, tools, effects, and more, the entire advanced Adjustment Pro Pack is available at $70 (normally $270) just for you!"
The ad did not adequately address how this would fit in with any Topaz products that you might already own. Yes, I own several of their products.

I've tried it. It is fast but otherwise I was not terribly impressed - but maybe I just don't yet have enough experience with it. I need to give it more time and effort.

It does not really seem a replacement for their earlier products but then again, this is an early version. It does offer a lot of interesting features though and I think I need to spend more time with it. One feature that I particularly want to explore is the formation of masks based on such things as color. On the other hand, a mask in the Studio does not seem to be exactly what I am accustomed to a mask being.

The Persona thing is pretty straight forward they are modules tailored to specific tasks
Develop
Photo
Liquify
Tone Mapping
Export

Panorama
Stack
HDR Merge
Focus Merge
Batch

The 2 main ones are Develop and Photo. Develop for your raw files, photo for pixel layer based editing. I think the names pretty much tell you what tasks they are aimed at. It's pretty much to simplify the interface for different tasks so you have the relevant tools for the task in hand.

Affinity photo is mostly bitmap orientated and Affinity Designer more vector orientated, but there is some crossover so you get tools which are used in both.

The next tool they will be releasing (eventually) will be Affinity Publisher. Designer lets you mix text, photo's and vector graphics on a page.

Publisher will let you define page templates which will have things like linked text boxes. Designer lets me produce say 3 columns of text boxes on the page but I have to fill them manually if i cut some text out from the first column for example that just gives me a shorter column, So then i need to move some text from the second to the first then from the third to the second manually. Affinity Publisher will handle that for me. You probably don't produce documents like I do and just want to edit your photo's and you just need Affinity Photo but eventually the Affinity Suite will be a fully featured alternative to Adobe's creative suite, well thats the ambition.

Hope that helps.

I am curious to try Topaz Studio out. I have all the existing Topaz plug-ins now, so I am not sure if this will actually add anything to my photo editing tools.
Hopefully over this weekend I will download the trial and see what it can do.

I had the same issues with it - their ad is not very well written for reading by someone not already familiar with the Studio. Studio does not really fit with their existing product line. Rather, it is a new editor that probably fills a spot in your toolbox something like PhotoFXlab does. It is an interesting new tool but I'd not see it as a replacement for LR. Supposedly, you can invoke it from LR but I'm not sure how that works. It really is not a replacement for their earlier products.

The free version of Studio lacks a number of different features that you can buy individually but if you buy all of the add-on's that way they probably do add up to $270. You can buy all of them as a package for $70 (if you are an existing Topaz customer who got that offer) and that is about half of the price you would pay for the package otherwise.

Where did you see a $70 offer? The topaz website lists the temporary bargain price as $137.50. So confusing!

The $70 offer was sent to existing clients, and we were "told" to keep that sale price to ourselves.
This 70% discount offer is only good until May 30, 2017.

Here was what was in the email:

As a special thank you for supporting Topaz Labs and an owner of previous Topaz products, we wanted you to be the first to know about this new product and exclusive Topaz Studio discount. While it's completely free to use the program with 10 Adjustments, tools, effects, and more, the entire advanced Adjustment Pro Pack is available at $70 (normally $270) just for you!

We'd like you to enjoy over 70% off the Adjustment Pro Pack with coupon code <<Secret Code>> until May 30th. This is an exclusive deal just for you. We'd appreciate you keeping it between us.

FYI <<Secret Code>> is not the real code, I am not sure if the code applies only to my Topaz account.
