Beautiful cars, nice to look at, but terrible to spend much time behind the wheel! I speak from my experience of owning a 1956 Vette, rough riding, basically sitting on a cushion with your legs straight out with a huge diameter steering wheel jutting into your legs. That said, I think the 56 and 57 models are still my favorite C1's from a visual standpoint. I currently own and drive a 50th Anniversary Special Edition Vette that is as comfortable to drive as a luxury car and gets terrific gas mileage, but I hesitate to do much power shifting as the car has a much more delicate feel than the 4-speed C1's.

Upgrade to a C7!! It is FAR better in just about every way than my previous eight, starting in 1986.

I had a '58 Vette and now have an '81. The '58 hd a TERRIBLE ride--it had a '52 Chevy suspension.

ITs funny that you should say that because a lot of the owners of the older corvettes said the same thing.I guess all of the corvettes up until about 1966 had really stift rides. They all agree though that they are the best looking cars on the road at that time. There is no comparison to the new corvettes with all the new tech. and features.

I will post some of the newer vets this week. I just got back from vacation at Havasu Falls and need to recover from that trip and look at those pictures.
