W/R winterrose on FYC News

If you have, like so many others, dismissed the FYC as being nothing more than a Facebook-like avenue for a handful of members still going through that stage of struggling to come to grips with a degree of competence in creating photographic images that are creditable with some degree of consistency of quality then you might have overlooked that St3v3, the former moderator of the section, has relinquished his efforts to maintain the FYC charter that he himself set up and which initially had strong support from a great many highly competent photographers until he allowed it to become what we see it as being now.

Three members of what St3v3 referred to as “The Small Group” (which has been otherwise described) and who, incidentally, represent a good proportion of the CLC, have taken over and in their hands is the fresh opportunity to breathe some long deserved life into the stagnation of the FYC.

The previous moderator was both lazy and unable to manage the differing personalities holding sometimes conflicting opinions that are inevitable in these sorts of open forums.

His simplistic approach was to cull out forthwith anyone and everyone who caused him to actually exercise his managerial role and in effect closing the forum.

This overbearing attitude was not taken well by most and they deserted the section in droves.

There remained a few members who, although saddened by the direction that the FYC was taking, maintained the belief that the FYC was not a lost cause and was not irreversibly headed to the oblivion of social media for a select few CLC members, and they tried, in admittedly individual ways, to point out some of the if not absurdities, then certainly inconsistencies, in the incumbent critique, opinions and advice given to and by CLC members, let alone advice to outsiders possessing a hope for improvement in their photography.

Their efforts were rewarded with ignominious banishment from the section in the name of the peaceful enjoyment for the CLC members.

The new three hold the power to turn the tide and put the section back on track.

Let us pray that they have the wisdom to use it.

Okay. We'll have to wait and see if it will be any different than before.

understanding it's meaning........
Cheers.

That's a relief, for one horrible, fleeting moment I thought you meant the pretty filters and ludicrous textures brigade.....

I have a suggestion, stop going to that section and stop the tiresome redundancy about the CLC. It doesn't matter sir. This reminds me of a skipping record from a band that doesn't matter..

That's like telling people that the first post of a thread is false news.

The FALSE NEWS "no cameras at Indy" thread is up to 97 posts now, even though it was proven false on page 2.
