I have been a member here for few month's now and I am always reading the discussions regarding photography...Q&A....and it has been very enlighting and has helped me with my photography in many ways.
One member asked about Post Processing Software and of course there was a number of answers and opinions, and with me always wanting to improve my images post processing ( I always shoot in Raw) and so there was one software that I looked at and decided to try it after looking also at Video's of it on YouTube.....and the one thing that sold me on it and made up my mind was the ability to remove unwanted objects from photo's ....the ease of use and time of processing......I had tried different other software for this purpose but they were slow and never removed the unwanted object without distorting the image in one way are another.........anyway I bought the software ($50) download from iTunes store....yesterday I photographed a Prom Party and there was a image of a young kid sitting in a 2017 Maserati (see download picture) and I favored the picture but did not like the lady standing in the back ground so my first test was removing her using Affinity and I was just blown away at how fast and easy and clean it remover her as if she was never there....other software I used to all of 4 to 5 minutes and was not clean.......and i tried Affinity on about 10 other pictures and it just really fast (using a MacBook Pro w/touch Bar, 16gig ram), I'been testing all the other features and compared to Adobe PS6 and LightRoom 6 my god for $50 its run rings around them and i've been using Adobe since 1999....Oh! and by the way it also opened every Raw File Format.......I shoot with Sony a7ii, but I also have Cannon and Nikon raw files.......Affinity opened and converted them beautifully to jpeg.
I just wanted to post my opinion of Affinity for those who are always looking for a good editing software....Affinity is number one hands down (My Opinion)
Picture #3 and #4 are of Quiapo Church Philippines I photographed 2010 aerial helicopter

I downloaded and installed Affinity about 15 minutes before you posted this.
I hope the learning curve is as easy as I hear.

Great shots! Thanks for the recommendation. I am trying to learn Adobe PS and LR, but it is complicated to me. If I had a few hours everyday to try and learn, but I don't have that kind of time. How does Affinity compare to those? Orhave you tried those before? Would love to know before purchasing the software. Thanks

I still use both PS6 and Lightroom 6 but Afginity is easier then both, you have to do some reading of course with any software.

Hi Applepie, Udemy.com has a few video instructional courses for Affinity Photo that are very easy to learn, check them out. They are on sale at this time for about $10 for each course.

https://www.udemy.com

Vimeo also has around 210 short instructional video's as well, but they are available for....FREE!!!

Does Affinity have a cataloging system? I use LR some, but I'm not a big fan of it.

Nope? lol thanks for that informative and detailed explanation bro. Unfortunately at this point of time, Affinity Photo does not have a cataloging system, not sure it is in the pipes in the future.
