What would be a good upgrade from the D90. I have looked at the 7500, 7200, 500, 610, and 750. I do not shoot professionally anymore. But, I still want
professional quality. Thanks for your time and input.

David, I'd suggest a used/refurbished D800e. This is an FX format so if you have DX lenses you won't be able to take advantage of the format. If you can get one through Nikon USA or B and H, the price can be quite attractive. If you should choose the B and H route, just make sure to ask if you can return it if it isn't a US version. That's what I did last summer when I upgraded from a D700. I can't tell you how happy I am with that choice. The price was quite attractive, as well.

If you can afford it, 750. Great in low light

I think all choices you listed are good. To me the IQ and even limited light performance with both Nikon's APS-C's and FX Cameras is fantastic. I'm still using APS-C (D7100) and I'm very happy with it, and though I've thought about going FX I like shooting wildlife and like the extra magnification of APS-C and with 24MP (7100/7200 ... the 7500 drops to 21MP) I've not found it lacking in any way, so if your more likely to shoot long distance, or have a compliment of DX series lenses I would stick with the 7xxx series. Or if Low Light performance is Critical / Slightly better IQ go with the 610 / 750.

I would recommend the D500 or D750. if you already have FX lenses go with the 750 but is you have all DX lenses with your d90 the 500 is probably the best crop sensor camera on the market today, you won't go wrong.

WHAT !! You don't shot pro no more , and your asking here what you should buy . I would think it should be the other way around
Any way if birds in flight are a big part of shooting with a zoom of 4or 500 mm on long end go for the d500 , but if your not shooting
Fast action , save over half that cost and get a refurbished D7200 which will also be good for BIF and fast sports , I have two d90 , and I'll be getting a refurb, D7200 soon , or if not then I'll wait for a few more years and get a D500 for $1000, or less

And the D7500 is a total miss , it rates as a lot lesser cameras than the d7200 , smaller lighter , one camera card plus a few more no video
Not sure about video, but I would get the D7200 over it for sure it's a no brainer,

Nikon has the D750 on sale right now, it's a wonderful camera and a joy to use! Absolutely professional quality.

Any of the cameras you listed would be a good upgrade.

My favorites are the D500 or D7500 if you want to stay with APS-C sensor size, and a used or refurbished D810 or D800E which are not on your list but ought to be. When you downsample images from a D8XX series camera from 36 mp to 24 mp, the noise is pretty much equivalent, and the 8XX cameras will always record more detail, if you have good lenses.

There are some DX lenses that will actually just about cover FX, like the 35mm F1.8 D, the 10.5mm Fisheye with the built in lens hood removed, etc., but you will always get better results with an FX lens.

That was the first thought that I had; a pro asking me about which camera to buy!

If you want to shoot mostly sports, animals, and fast moving stuff get the D500. General photography would include the 7200 (it does everything the D7500 can do and cost you less and give you a built in flash) If you like wide angle stuff then a FF might be good for you, the D610 cannot give low light shots like the D750 and the D750 has a articulated rear screen which I find helpful for LOW shots. Find you passion and then find your camera.

The D750 is excellent! I have no desire to buy another DSLR - finally! The article below choosses the D750 as the ebst choice.
