Last post from my Hawaii trip.
These are 2-3x cropped photos from my 70D with a 150-600mmC Sigma lens. Effective length is 960mm !. Handheld at around 1600-2000ss. Pretty happy with the results. Standing on the beach 200yds away, the surfers are like "specks" in the distance. Cropped and zoomed in I can read their tattoos.!

Those look like fairly serious waves. Where were you?

East side of Oahu. We went north to see Banzai Pipeline but the surf was flat. Drove down the east side and the trade wins were howling and the waves were huge. The Boogie boarders were in spot where the waves crashed into a cliff wall and bounced back into the oncoming waves creating a resonant doubling and/or "washing machine" effect. ... I could have stayed there all day just watching them. Had my swim fins with me and was considering going in but after about 30secs watching I chose life instead....:-)
