I scanned this just recently, but I took this picture in 2004. We had moved into this house a year earlier and were doing some work on it, when our then-one-year-old cat Velcro decided the ladder we had left out was going to be her shortcut to the second floor {I don't think she ever figured out how to go down the ladder steps, however}

and our latest addition, my buddy Leila, really likes to get high {she is on valence over window}

Nice capture. If you need a friend get a dog. If you need a great friend get a cat.

You're very welcome - Leila's adventure is much more amusing now than when I had to figure out how to get her down.
BTW - in recent years I've had the rule "take a picture before yelling" ... it gives me time to see the situation in a larger context.

We had a cat that would get on top of open doors, they like high places from which to gaze upon their domain.

Leila is especially like that. She figured out a way to this picture by jumping furniture-to-furniture-to-furniture. In our current home, she ruined a set of draperies by climbing them to get to a similar place.
Cats evolved as arboreal hunters living in trees, before they came down to the forest, or savannah floor. Being up high makes them feel safe.
Love these, rehess! Yes, cats are really cute and funny! We so enjoy our Oreo!
