Milestone Crossed for Sony Wedding photographers -- Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM just announced

Sony just announced the release of the FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM (Gold Master) lens!! :-)

This is a very significant milestone because all of last year I was hearing by some professional photographers. Sony isn't a professional option for wedding/event photography -- Where is a fast, high quality, native 16-35mm zoom for the Sony E-mount?

It was the final hole Sony had in their high quality, native E-mount glass lineup for wedding/event photography. Many wedding/event photographers have different styles and preferences regarding the lenses they use but the following is usually considered a complete lens lineup for wedding/event photography. Where many professional wedding and event photographers usually do not use all these lenses (some have more of a preference for zooms, and some prefer primes, etc...), but this list is usually considered the primary "set" to choose from.

Zooms: 16-35mm, 24-70mm, 70-200mm
Primes: 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 100mm, 135mm
Macro: 90mm macro.

Sony came out with high quality 100mm and 135mm native E-mount lenses last year, and the last remaining lens they didn't have (for the wedding/event market segment) was a fast, high quality 16-35mm zoom, which they just announced.

Was wondering if anyone had any comments? Are there any lenses you use for wedding/events where Sony still doesn't have a native, fast, high quality, full-frame E-Mount solution?

Sony also announced a native E-mount, 12-24mm zoom lens today, although not a GM (Gold Master) series lens, a G (Gold) series lens.

I'm not quite sure what the major market segment for a 12-24mm zoom is? I assume primarily for landscape and architectural photographers. Maybe travel and street? -- but this is a pretty big lens IMHO for travel or street photography.

Yes -- I was reading up on ultra wide zooms. Primary professional uses of an ultra-wide zoom like a 12-24mm zoom are landscape, architectural, and interiors (with real-estate photography being part of architectural and interior).
