Two photos of the rock below the Lighthouse which one do you like?

This is a tough question since both photos are very good for different reasons. The first photo shows the red out building, better tree line and soft clouds. However, the rocks on the right side of the photo look out of focus even it they are not. Your second photo shows a clearer rock formation but does not show the lighthouse as well as the first photo and the plain sky doesn't have any interest. Therefore, I like the first photo the best.

With all due respect Ron I believe that is the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse in New Harbor which is in the Damarascotta Region of Maine. I like them both but #2 would be my choice as it shows a more complete image of the lighthouse and I find the rocks in #2 more interesting. If memory serves there were warning signs posted about watching for rogue waves that take a few tourists every year along the Maine Coast. Beautiful area for sure. Thanks for sharing.

I prefer the rock in the first one.
This looks like Pemaquid Point Lighthouse.
If it is Pemaquid, it was the first fog horn bell ringer (mechanism) that I had seen in person.
I don't remember anything in the "bell tower" (if it was open).

Jay Pat, you are a winner, the lighthouse in question is the lighthouse on the back of the Maine quater and that is Pemaquid Point light house, on my trip to Maine this was the first one that I stopped to photograph. I used a Pentax with a 12-24mm f4 pentax lense, the two photos will show why I feel a lens like this should be in every photographers bag.

Second one. We spent several summers in that area, camping by Lake Pemaquid. My wife liked visiting - and shopping at - a local music box store.

Both are good shots. It's hard to tell which is better since they're both showing different types of rock, or so it seems.
