Handle - a name or nickname. I don't think your friends and family call you wilderness. There are many UHH members who also go by their real names. i.e. - Old Hippy is ED. Treepusher is Randy. Angler is Jim.
Maybe I'm being too nosey but I like to know my fellow hogs by their real name. If you don't wish to tell me, that's OK.
Sorry I was so thick there. My name is harvey halpern which is also the name of my website
. Although I live in Cambridge MA I've been doing long hikes in Utah's backcountry since 1974. We rarely see people on our hikes except when we come near a trail. Have spent over 175 days backpacking on the Navajo nation and maybe 1000 in Southern Utah. I've hooked up with America's greatest canyoneer, Steve Allen and we've explored some pretty darn remote places, often requiring ropes to access them. I've named canyons ( Hydra and Beryl in the Escalante region, and have a technical slot canyon- Hard Day harvey- named after me ( I was on the team that did the first descent). Hope that answers your question.
