Nice review on the G2. Unfortunately, I have the non "G2" version. But having just retired and taking a major pay hit, I don't see myself upgrading anytime soon. I basically have my toys that I have to now play with.

When I was looking for my Tamron 150-600 mm lens, they were in short supply.
I sat on a waiting list for a while, and got a curt reply to my 1 inquiry as to where I was on their list after 1 1/2 months. Rude. And very bad for them.
And not something I have any patience for.

So I went rooting around and found one (1) at a chain of 3 local photography stores near me. (They had 1 Nikon, and 1 Canon)
I slapped down my online order at 6 AM. Then checked by phone at 9 AM. Yep, it was mine!

Point being, maybe one is setting on a shelf nearby?
It looks like one heck of a nice telescope.

Time flies. Went back and found one of the first images I took with my Tamron 150-600mm lens. Oct 2, 2014.

Oops, after attaching this picture, found that I had pictures from Sep 15, 2014. So that is about the time I got it.

Yessire - I have found one in Germany - it is the same scope with a different logo and brand but AT makes it for them. it is 900 Euros which is close to 1 1/2 times the US cost. If I didn't have gear to use - I would consider going ahead and buying it. They did guarantee me a 1 week delivery....but I have plenty of toys to play with. My idea for this scope is two fold, 1-travel 2-if someone decides to steal my stuff as it sits overnight in my front yard - I would rather lose a 700 dollar scope and 1300 camera than a 7000 lens and 3000 DLSR....plus the guy at the Astronomy Shed - really speaks highly of this scope. Esp...those manufactured in the last two years. So, if it ever shows up, I will do my best with it and see what develops - digitally!

Me too... I think.

I learned a valuable lesson about 'Lists'.

87,657 Shutter operations later....

I think Regis was my best example of what the lens could do.

I really like it. But I like it best on a tripod, with the Nest Gimbal head. (A shameless plug for Carter)
Ahh, Perfection!

But my real reason for getting the lens. Auto settings, July 14, 2014.

I have absolutely no doubt you will do some amazing images with it.

But still, the waiting is the very worst part.
