These photos represent a sample of some of what I have photographed over the last few years, the Iguna is from Aruba, the two Blue photos were two of many that I took at pre sunrise to sunrise in Maine, The lighthouse and gold work boats are from Cape Cod and last is the 4th of july over the hudson river, photographed from the walkway over the Hudson River with the Poughkeepsie bridge. I chose these to highlight what can be produced from a JPEG file and they by no means looke like this comming out of the camera. The second point I tried to make is that seldom do we shoot at daylight and even though these are JPEG files they still needed finishing work on the computer to get the best print. The sunset light house and the lone tree have been some of my best sellers in an 11x17 inch print.

The Fireworks were early in the night, though the sun had been down for a while the sky still had the blue in it. These were 8 sec shots taken with a Pentax K10 D, Benro tripod and cable relese. There was alot of smoke in the air and the colors were brought up a bit to get the reflected lights off of the bridge on the water. these were also single capture photos and no HDR was used.

I have to agree with you. I used to shoot in both and now all I shoot is JPEG. These are great photos. You can spend a lot of time PP raw or a little time PP JPEG and I never saw a raw photo look any better. For the heck of it check out Regis and look at his bird photos and he only shoots in JPEG also....Rich

These are excellent images, mrpentaxk5ii! I'm a Pentax fan, too, but I only have a film-shooting Pentax, so I'm using a Nikon bridge camera now.

Really great JPEG images. That is all I shoot too. I don't like sitting for hours doing PP on my images. If you use the right equipment and the right settings a whole lot of PP is not needed.
