Hey folks, haven't been in for a while!
But summer is here, time to post a few pics.
My favorite subject is cycling, so here's a pic.
Probably my fav event of the year is the Sea Otter Classic, where everything on two wheels happens.
Yes, these are girls, but they are MEAN girls!! No, not really. #2 is one of my favorites! She is the nicest and most bubbly girl you'll ever meet, they both are!
This is the Dual Slalom Women's Final(DS). This is also the unofficial DS world championships!!
#1, American Jill Kintner vs #2, Australian Caroline Buchanan.
Both are former Olympic BMX competitors and both are former Women's BMX World Champions! So the racing was very competitive with Jill, #1, taking it on the line.
Looks like it would be fun to watch, SS! Great shot! Good to see you back!

Didn't know what to expect.
I'm going to a big MX race in Missouri this weekend. The tracks advertised as 30 to 40 feet wide! Looking forward to giving my 7D a workout.
I stopped by the library here in Belton, MO to look up directions.
It's a Midwest MX Championship, Round 2. Should be nice weather in the 70's.
Be safe out there,
Marion
Intriguing cycling competition... Fantastic capture! Excellent framing for this dynamic narrative...
Your choice of wide angle glass with a rather narrow aperture has afforded a surreal view into far more than one's eye could ever take in...
Color harmonies work extremely well here...
As does the inclusion of the ball capped Canon Shooter mid frame camera far right... :)
Thank you for sharing...

Thomas, thanks for taking the time to look this shot over carefully and for the good feed back!
Maybe I'll post a few more, just to make sure everybody is properly bored!! LoL
It'll give everyone a different perspective of a type of cycling competition that's not seen all that often. It's very quick action for both the viewer and the riders!!
Thanks
SS
Would absolutely love to see more of this event SS...
As for "not seen all that often"?
I have 2000 acres of wooded parkland behind my studio, which is a playground for mountain bikers and the like...
BMX is certainly among the mix I see year round... those crazies even ride during snowstorms... gota be too much fun :)
btw, when I'm hiking through those woodlands I'm always careful to wear bright colors... those cyclist come around corners at speed and I have had to dance out of their way more than a few times... but they are always courteous and polite... and thus not a problem sharing the path with them...
Oh, since you're showcasing female athletes thought you might enjoy Barbara Buatois setting the women's bicycle (non-paced) speed record in Battle Mountain Nevada, September 2009. She was clocked at 121.43 km/hour (75.45 mph) (her run starts at 2:22 minutes in)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE3cvfR8MzgAmazing footage shot inside the cockpit during her record breaking attempt...
Little doubt why females are superb astronauts... endurance...
Thanks!
