Two homers.

Giancomo Stanton hit two home runs in Citi Park against the Mets.
Here's a shot for each homer. The second homer came about two after the first.
The results are almost identical!

Nice. It would be more helpful to indicate camera and lens and even perhaps settings.

Wow, I'm surprised you weren't using a DSLR. I have the Canon G15 and guess I need to use it more than I do.

I was on a trip to New Jersey. I have two Pentax K5 and K3 DSLRs with a number of lenses (up to 300mm) and use them when I can control some of my shooting environment. I had a DSLR with me on the trip, which I decided to use while visiting relatives, but used the G16 at the crowded Mets ball park. For a P&S, the G16 has pretty good auto focus, zoom, and stabilization. It does a much better job than my Nikon and Fuji P&S cameras, and with minimal processing (just a few minor crops). I do the same thin g when I visit relatives in Kansas City - I use the G16 when I go to a soccer or baseball game and get good results, but I use a DSLR on walking tours and general use.

Yes it is! Stanton from the Miami Marlins is one of the highest paid athletes in MLB. His swing is very consistent from game to game.
Thanks for commenting.

Nosaj, these are two nice shots. Never used that camera but looks like it did a pretty good job.
I might slow it down just enough to get a bit of blur on the bat.
I'll tell you what I have a problem with, these two don't speak for themselves. We need a bit of the ball in them going off the bat. From here, they both look like a swing and a miss!!! LoL
I know they're not, but do you get my drift?
Keep up the good work!!!

Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I very much agree that a little background blur and a take-off ball would be ideal. Neither would be possible with the P&S; my DSLR would do that but it was not available.

"used the G16 at the crowded Mets ball park..." Wise move since the I believe all MLB venues restrict lens length... Albeit the actual value may vary between venue. Have oft seen quoted that "business card length or less works" meaning 3 inches or under... So where are those catadioptric lens when we need them... lol

FYI: the second image may be the better of the pair since it shows far fewer empty seats... Something which is a major no-no for commercial sports... Yes we want folks to revel in the bliss of believing their league is indeed the most popular of all!

Love the splendid color harmonies in the second image...

You are very lucky Nosaj to be a fan of a team that has endured since 1962... In fact 1969 "Miracle Mets" beat the Baltimore Orioles in the 1969 World Series in what is considered one of the biggest upsets in World Series history!!! Go Mets!

btw, I miss the Washington Senators (saw them in my first Big League game as a little kid), a founding member of the American League who abandon DC for Minnesota in 1961 to become the Twins. Immediately following was an expansion club which left DC in 1971 to become the Texas Rangers... After an agonizing 33-year absence DC is now left with the Nationals... too little too late, I moved on to Soccer...
Go D.C. United! :)

Thank you for sharing Nosaj...

Thomas: Thanks for your thoughtful and interesting comments.
The first image was taken at the beginning of the game and the second was taken about two hours later. The seats were filling in during the first few innings due to bad weather and very bad traffic (it was the same day as the city-wide bike race that slowed down traffic almost everywhere). I was visiting my 9-year old grandson that weekend. He lives in N.J. and is an avid Mets fan. I come from another part of the east coast and a fan of another team (American League), but also like the Mets.
