Bird ID Please- found in Wilcox Az

The wind was blowing like crazy which I think ruffled up his feathers a bit. Has a small raptor like beak and a pigeon like body. What is this bird?

I hope this helps. The bird seems to be more common in New Mexico. I see that Willcox is in the extreme southeast corner of Arizona, so it is covered it the range map. Very nice find, and nice photo despite the wind.

I like the shot! Could it be a female Prairie Hen. I've never seen on but for some reason that popped into my mind and I found some similar pictures on Google.

Thank You Robert! Appreciate your efforts. I have seen quail wandering around my house but not of this variety.
