I'm have surgery on my right hand and won't be able to use it. Any converters or gizmos to be able to shoot left handed?

There are a number of remote releases that will allow you to focus and shoot while holding it (the remote) in your left hand..

You would need to set-up in Program mode ahead of time..

Sounds like this will be awkward, hope the surgery turns out well for you..

Good Luck with your surgery... I went through the same thing in October last year (3 surgeries on my right hand) then in February, the same 3 on my left hand. I found having the camera on the tripod works well and using the remote... or using your left hand to push the shutter. I had an advantage, I have a fantastic hubby that lugs my equipment around and helped me get set up. Again Good Luck and I'll keep you in my prayers......

Have you considered holding your camera upside down? :) Seriously, I think your best bet will be tripod/remote shutter combo.

If you are dealing with a point and shoot , esp if the need is temporary, try turning the camera upside down, press the shutter with your left thumb, in film days there was the exacta, a left handed camera. Bob.

Good luck on your surgery. Had 5 surgeries myself since Jan 2010. I'm lucky - I'm amidexious (probaly mispell it). Tripod and remote though anywhere i go.

I discovered how difficult this issue is in 2002 when the Salt Lake City Olympic Torch was being run through my little town... I thought I cold hold my then fully automatic Digital camera, and my video camera. WRONG! BIG WRONG!

I discovered how fully cameras are made for right handed people only! ( Being left handed), I have all my life had to adapt to a right handed world. But this event REALLY taught me how true that could be! There was no way I could do it.
Fast forward now to a full dslr, and the matter is greatly compounded, if not impossible. Perhaps "MAYBE" in full GREEN auto you might have some luck doing it with a left hand.

I wish you a very speedy recovery so you can get back to shooting normally.

Best of luck with the surgery. Can you use a cable release with your camera? Go on line and look up accessories for your camera. I use an electronic shutter release on my Nikon. It's made by MicroSync. With camera on a tripod, microsync connected, I can walk away and fire the camera from a distance.

Best of luck with your surgery. I have had surgery on both of my hands and I don't think I thought about how difficult it was going to be to do some things, like brush your teeth, etc. Tripod, remote shutter, pack dog to carry everything LOL.

Keeping good thoughts for you, take care.
