The head cleaning method that I posted came from several Youtube videos. Two years ago a friend ask me to help unclog the head on his Epson R1800. It had been idle for a year. It took me three weeks to clear the head. It required injecting window cleaner into the printhead and soaking the head surface. After lots of messy towels and about a hundred dollars in ink, the printer was up and running again. I returned the printer and told my friend that printers need to be used often. Especially printers that use pigment ink like his. Since then the printer has clogged again from idleness.
