Took advantage of a sorta sunny warm day!

Took the day off work to go play on the water...it's been so rainy and blah around here lately. I think I am getting better at DOF and composition...tell me what ya all think of these ones.

Nikon D5300 with the 18-55 mm lens.

I like the compositions. Did you use a tripod? I think maybe a slower shutter speed would have helped. Perhaps a higher iso?

I really like the pictures. But you didn't have to send all that rain to the east coast.

No tripod since we were on the boat...and I used aperture priority, f11 and iso 100 for the 1st two and f8 iso 100 for the other two. I am a beginner just learning this dslr and trying to understand how all settings fit together.

May I ask...what would a higher iso have done? would that give me a better dof with the same F stops?

Higher iso allows for better low light photography.

These are all very good shots, Cindy, but I think #3 shows depth of field best.
