Ha Solar - Dinking around thru the haze

Played around with the ATIK Mono and QHY 183C cameras on the Lunt 60 w/ 2.5x PowerMate yesterday afternoon.

WRT to the QHY 183C image, I also aligned and stacked 20of2000 frames and the result was less noisy but more blurred. Part of problem using the QHY 183C was getting a good focus using SharpCap. The Infinity software is far nicer in this regard! Also, images off the Infinity are high quality than video out of SharpCap. Next time out I'll capture images off the QHY 183C for a fairer comparsion.

Well, from my little hole in the wall, I like the Infinity's results best.

I'm hunkered down here. Pulled everything for "The Big Storm!"
Went out tonight to clear skies...

Meanwhile, our multi-millionaire weather gal is hunkered down in her $3.64 M coastal home in Malibu.
Accuracy is optional for LA, LA, Land weather folks.

Nice looking set of images.
I'm a bit clouded over today but I did have an opening.
Nothing much really going on and I didn't image.
What did you use to stack and process with if I may ask?

I normally use AviStack2. I find Registax works well for smaller images and video frames sizes. I have AutoStakkert2! loaded but it crashes so often I seldom use it. I'm told the Beta 3 version is stabler; however, one of my friends just went back to Ver. 2 because the Beta wouldn't properly align video frames. Seems strange in this day of technology that someone can't develop a "PixInsight for Astro-Video Processing"!?

I did the final processing using a Photoshop Wavelets plug-in and Lightroom. I also use Registax Wavelets on occasion.

Back when I wanted real solar scope and could only do Baader white filter.
Beautiful shots and processing
