A bit of Ha Solar this morning

Managed to get an hour of Solar imaging this morning before the clouds caught up to me... I was also hoping to shoot some White Light Solar but didn't happen!

Shot with QHY 183C on single stacked Lunt 60 scope. All images the best 10 of 1000 frames of video captured in SharpCap and processed in AutoStakkert! and Lightroom.

Enjoy!

It is really quite simple once you work out a good workflow... Or two...

I think most of your problem is the weird files generated out of the G3 camera. Once you get the de-interlacing handled the rest will be a cake walk!

Yep, definately need a camera that works. Poopy pictures are very hard to perfect.
Such is a low buck camera.
You and Jim are keeping me on the edge of my seat watching what the Infinity can do.

Just a couple of things. If you can borrow a mono camera you will see a major spike in quality.
HAlpha scopes only let red through so you are only using 1/4 of your pixels in the camera. Yes we can make it work but Mono is king.
You are a bit over exposed and if you bring that down a little bit your sharpness will improve as well.
Give this program a try. It's a bit daunting but the results are great. It's used after stacking but reverts to Mono so you will have to manually color.

This forum is loaded with information for solar imaging and the people are fantastic.
Lastly, is this the tilt version of the Lunt? Just wondering because of the heading of your two prominence shots.
Nicely done...

I do have a mono CCD but much prefer the color unit, primarily because it is color. I find B&W a bit boring!

I'm a member of SolarChat and post there on occasions. I'll take a look at ImPPG.

Not too sure what the "tilt version" of the Lunt is? I adjust the talon using a thumbwheel.

Take a look at my white filter post from tonight.
I provided a link to the site for ImPPG.
Lunt makes two types of scope, one uses I thought was a lever to adjust the image the other uses pressure tuning and is what I use.
I was just curious since so far you and I are the only ones doing Halpha.
