Recently visited a modern sugar plantation in Louisiana. The growing/processing season was over and the raw sugar stored in immense warehouse(s). This pile goes back into the warehouse about 500 feet. Already auctioned off, it is gradually shipped out during the year. By next fall, it will all be gone and the process begins anew. This photo was taken with an iPhone, so the quality is not so good. Thanks for looking.
How sweet of you to share this!
That's a whole lot of diabetes!
I agree with how sweet of you to share some sugar with us and the backstory is interesting!
Interesting shot - certainly got the "sweet spot" on your lens!
Thanks to all who viewed and responded, especially the punsters (you know who you are!)
I would love to have some of that raw sugar before the bleaching process starts.
