This is my first posting to this section. I am just getting started with black and white. This was shot at a power plant then processed in PSE14 and OnOne.

What do you think?

I think your tonal range looks good. It might be lens distortion but your buildings are leaning just a bit. Not that that has anything to do with how well you have processed the B&W.

You have lovely greys, blacks and whites. The sky is beautiful. For me it gets minus points just because I don't care for the subject. It's well-done, just not interesting. Since that's purely personal, I guess that's not fair, is it?

I generally prefer color over black and white, however since I doubt there are very many interesting colors in the scene, I think it works well in this case. The tones are well defining and the lines are nice and sharp. The clouds are not dull and add to the interest. The buildings are leaning a little bit toward the center due to the lens or parallax or something like that. I think that can be corrected with some types of software, but not any that I own. It isn't too bad though. Overall, a good photo.

I love the contrast. I also think the subject is fine and does lend itself well to B&W. The perspective was driving me crazy so I tried to fix it in Lightroom and PS. I couldn't get it perfect. It probably needs to be cropped differently now because the structure on the left is crowding the edge (with extra room on the right structure) which leads to tension

Hi! I love black-and-white, too, and this subject is just perfect for it. People have commented about straightening the image. I also think that you could crop just a bit of the foreground and the right side. I think the subject, for me, of the image are the powerful horizontal and vertical lines
juxtaposed with the fluffy, natural clouds. That's what I would work on.

Nice image - I do generally prefer colour to B&W but I believe it works well for this image.

Yes, it is fair. Looking for feedback on technique not subject matter

I was more interested in getting the B&W I neglected the crop and perspective. Thanks for the feedback.

Nicely done industrial image. I also follow a site for Nissan 370Z fans and this would be the perfect backdrop for a shot of a tastefully modded Z car. For some reason they love the heavily industrial backgrounds for car shots. You did a great jobs with bringing in every shade of gray between pure white and pure black. Good job.
