Bob,
A nice peaceful shot of your resting wife?

I do believe the news has lulled her to sleep. I suffer from a similar fate, regardless of politics.
It is a bit dark (I find myself complaining about over-dark pictures more as I get older), little shadow brightening might let us see more of your peaceful model!
Looks like you've been taking pictures round my place Bob!
It looks too dark to me--could it be brightened in pp?
Might be the best way to watch the news.
But on a more serious side, as already commented a little on the dark side.
Minority rules! The setting is dark with a bit of back sunlighting. Brightening would destroy the contrasts: her hair and the illuminated outline around her face. Noise would be less obvious but I don't care and ---minority rules! Look in your picture books and count the dark ones---the ones with barely discernible detail in the dark areas. I appreciate your comments and anyone who wishes to mess around with it is welcome to do so, but be forewarned: I'm not exactly open minded about this. It's possible that my closeness to the subject may be a factor.
Thanks all.

Brightening usually increases noise when I've tried it Bob. Maybe that's why I'm with you regarding shadows - never be afraid of the dark! It is a modern, digital, requirement to see every detail in shadows, but not one I find it necessary to adhere to.
With your shot, I would have probably tried some localised dodging, but can certainly live with things the way they are.
