Hi, I am giving an update on the Slave Flash unit purchased at bhphotovideo.com. In case you missed the first post: I bought a new slave flash that is completely universal to all camera's with a built in flash i.e. digital point and shoot, DSLR's, film camera's of all types. I purchased the brand "Bower". I think it was for 17-18.00.

Results:
I have absolutely no regrets!
This thing is amazing! It does exactly what the $300.00+ Slave flashes do. It even came with a hot shoe that allows it to connect to a tripod/other. I have had no issues with it not firing, I got it around noon yesterday and have the same rechargable batteries still in it. So the life time of the battery usage is more than 8hrs of continuous use and I have tested that to the full extent. Even got in a few extra shots (20-30 more) before it went dead.

For those not who don't know what a slave flash is: Basically, a remote flash. It fires with your camera's internal flash i.e. fill light, kicker light, other. What I like about this one is it also has the hot shoe option which allows you to use it as your camera's main flash, tested, works perfect. The flash sets to the settings of your camera's internal flash power and speed's. Red eye and over darkened shadows are no more with this.

Now, I will say I purchased a defuser for this when I purchased it. When it arrived I wasted no time installing it. This has not been tested without the defuser installed. Below are some photographs of the flash in difference.

Without Flash unit only using camera flash.
