I would like to know how you acclimated your camera to the cold from the warm place that you keep it.

I carried my camera and lenses in a water proof day pack. We traveled from ship to shore on inflatable rubber Zodiac boats. If the seas were calm I'd take the camera out and shoot as the opportunity arose. When we returned to the ship I left the camera in the bag for about an hour before taking it out to upload the SD card to my laptop. Temperatures were not that bad, in the mid to upper thirties. It was late summer down there in March.

I want to thank everyone who has responded to my post. Your comments have really been a confidence booster. I don't know if I should post other Antarctica files or look for something new to post.
Don't be to sure that you will never make to Antarctica you never know. I retired from the Navy in 1987 and used to say that I'd been on six of the seven continents, but that I'd probably never see the seventh. Well the opportunity arose, the time was right and my wife and I seized it.

Nice. In the first image it looks like the centre two Penguins are moaning about the queue for the beach !
