A local camera club is is having the annual digital image contest. We are allow to make two entries.
Which two of the below images would you eliminate and which two would you submit?
It's worth the time to download and see the bigger images.
I drop the football game and robin photo. The squirrel is quite a good photo. The race has a lot of intrinsic value in that the first question is what are they doing? It's a great action capture.

I reallyyyyy like the Steeler game picture but that's just because I am a Steeler fan! As far as which one I would put in a contest....I am to new at this to offer you any suggestions and guidance on which one's to submit and why....however...I do like the Race picture better than the other one's.

For me, it's the race picture first, and the squirrel next.
I would keep the first two, eliminating the robin and the squirrel because there is some action in the first two, and robins and squirrels are not unique.
Let us know what you decide--inquiring minds want to know.

I would go with #2 or #4.

Football Game would have it for me - hands down - I think one could entertain oneself for quite a while pondering (and panning) the myriad closeups. But it's a little soft. So it's Race and Squirrel. Both of which I would be proud of myself.
Thanks,Tom

I agree.

I'd have to go with #3 and #4. I like of composition of both those the best.
The football game photo, even in download is, to me, just a jumble of color; pretty, but not interesting or unique. The race is my first choice. I can't decide between the robin and squirrel for second place.
Properly titled the football game is a good photo. I used Topaz Clarity to kick the blue and yellow saturation also protected the whites. Now the photo is alive rather than faided. Perhaps title "to the masses it is only a game."
If the squirrel had more to the left it would be a good one... it would be looking something beside the edge of the photo. Unless you have more to the left this is a cull.
Obviously the Robbin has a broken neck.... Cull.
This leaves the two birds....we cheat a little and clone out the ugly food ball and pretend they are fighting over a love. One will survive to mate.
Do a horizontal flip so that the diagonal branch leads into the photo. The now on left bird looks as tho he is defending his tree. Now we have a story of competition over a nesting place.
Bring up the bottom so that the space under the bird is equal to the space to the left of the bird. The excess bottom tells us nothing. Trim the top also

The Football game was taken with a 500mm mirror lens hand held. The other three were taken with a 600mm f/4 on a tripod with fill flash.

Interesting thoughts on the "race." There is still time to implement your suggestions. PhotoShop manipulation is allowed.
