I wanted to get the Panasonic LX-100 but the price stays high so I think I would get the Sony A6000 instead. I tried to download the manual from Sony but neither manual would show me how to use the camera in manual exposure or manual focusing. I want to learn how to use the camera and how it operates before I buy it.
Thanks but I haven't decided to buy the camera yet. I want to know about it before making the decision. The fact that if Sony doesn't supply me with a usable manual then it's one big strike against it.
You can't go wrong with David Busch's books on cameras. Buy it. You won't regret it.
Most camera companies don't supply a manual with theri camera; they allow you to download a PDF file of the manual.

I tried to download the manual. I downloaded 2 of them but neither show me how to use the camera in manual.

I Googled to see what I could find on the Sony a6000. Their so-called manual was downright silly. What I did manage to stumble on was page 142 of the Sony Help Guide. Hopefully it will give you some guidance.

Yup, "one big strike against it". But, it didn't stop me from purchasing one, and apparently a couple dozen more people have done the same. For me, Fujifilm supplies better manuals, yet none of the manuals fully satisfy my needs (I'm dumb). Glad there are people like David Busch who write books.
Gary L. Friedman and Ross Warner write one that may be equally as good.

I have one. Don't let the manual deter you from buying a great camera. Seriously. And I found manual mode to be pretty straightforward.
I am sorry but I am the one who read the manual before buying the camera. I need to know how to use it before I buy it.
why is it that every camera manual is garbage ??
I bought the Canon M5 last December. The manual is 225 pages - and all useless. Some of the most basic questions cant be answered from the manual.
I bought both this camera (a60000 and Gary Friedman's excellent manual, no regrets!

I have both Busch and Friedman manuals. Friedman is far better.
Go on You Tube and check out Gary Fong's videos for the a 6000, they are awesome.
