Here are a few samples from a shoot with the lovely Emmy Elle.

I think the poses wit effective use of her hair and the lighting are fine. Have never liked a lot of makeup on the face - which I think she has. Looks un real. Would also have liked to have seen at least a hint of a smile.
Especially like last photo.

Although she did have some makeup on, she didn't smile through most of the shoot. In some of the poses she looked almost 'wooden', like a Barbie doll. Most of the models I have worked with lately do not smile, and only smile when I catch them 'off guard'.

I agree. The model should look happy, sensual, friendly, or some such. I think the facial expression is part of what makes the photo.
+1 on offering the download. #5 is my personal favorite.

Jay, in case you are interested, Emmy lives in Indy, you can find her on Model Mayhem.

I'm with you. The others are a bit of a mixed bag. Some PP to improve the skin texture could turn these into true glamour shots as opposed to reality. But the last one has much more drama, which I like.

Agreed John. Some models smile a lot, many don't smile at all. It does not bother me one iota, nor do I think it detracts from the image. We all have different opinions, and create whatever makes the model and us as individuals happy.
And be careful catching a model "off guard" in any way at all. I worked with one model who did not smile, preferring the serious look. I did capture her in a beautiful pose where she was smiling beautifully, and subsequently posted it on my site. She saw it, got extremely upset with me, and has never worked with me since.

jsmangis,
Not sure what you're doing but I found Emmy to be a blast to photograph and she smiled a lot during our photoshoot, at times even laughing. Most of the females I photograph laugh and smile during our shoots. I added a image of Emmy smiling for you.

I agree with you that she has a beautiful smile. She did smile for me in between shots, but got back into 'character' when the shooting resumed. Perhaps this was because it was a group shoot with several photographers, and I was only able to work with her for an hour. I plan on driving over to Indy this summer and working with her alone. I think the results of a shoot like that will be much better.
