Very envious--wish I could have been there! Also wish they'd dispense with the diesel back-up (cute that they used the 6110), but I understand, although her first trips back in '82 were solo. Thanks for posting!

It is a pain in the butt to have trips behind a great locomotive with a diesel stuck in the consist!

This is my first post/reply: My father worked as an engineer for the N & W at the coal piers in Norfolk for over thirty years-started with steam and then reluctantly had to go to diesel-what sweet memories these bring back!!-he called these locomotives "cannon balls" for the obvious reasons.

There was a video posted yesterday of the UP 844. It needed help from a diesel also.
